AYA Niseko June Reopening Announcement

To Our Valued Guests,

We thank you for your continued patience and support of our hotel as we navigate this challenging situation.

Throughout the lockdown period we have taken steps to conduct maintenance checks and repairs, and thoroughly clean and disinfect each of our guest rooms and shared facilities. We hope this will give you peace of mind about the safety and cleanliness throughout our hotel following the global pandemic.

It is with pleasure that we announce that AYA Niseko will reopen for business as usual from June 1st 2020.

During the coming weeks AYA Niseko will continue to observe the recommendations from the Government of Japan and the World Health Organisation. AYA Niseko will take countermeasures in order to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 virus in the following methods.

General Countermeasures to be Undertaken;

-We will have hand sanitiser readily available throughout the building at the front desk, and on each floor in the elevator lobby for guest and employee use.

-There will be regular alcohol-based disinfection efforts made to items in public spaces such as door handles, elevator buttons, toilet doors, front desk surface, room keys and writing utensils.

-Our housekeeping staff will also use alcohol-based disinfectant to clean room facilities and equipment in guest rooms.

-Guest slippers will be thoroughly disinfected with alcohol between uses. We will also provide an additional pair of disposable slippers for each guest.

-Our housekeeping staff will clean and disinfect our public onsen facilities at a higher frequency. The ventilation in the public onsen will be enhanced.

-The use of hand dryers in public area bathrooms will be suspended and replaced by single use paper towels.

-Our friendly staff will be wearing masks while serving you to protect both the health of you our guests as well as our employees.

-Cleaning staff members will wear disposable gloves while carrying out their duties.

-When arriving at our accommodation for check in, our staff will invite you to fill out a questionnaire about your health condition.

Countermeasures for Employees;

In addition to these countermeasures we have introduced further measures for our employees to comply with.

-We have distributed masks to each of our employees. They are mandatory to wear when serving our guests, and staff are encouraged to wear a mask to and from work.

-We check the condition of all staff before they begin working with our guests. Any staff with a temperature over 37.5 degrees Celsius or who are not feeling well are on standby at home. AYA Niseko has introduced a code of conduct as a means to manage events of poor employee health and provide a system for managing overall employee health.

-Alcohol-based hand sanitiser will be used regularly by our employees as they enter the workspace and return from meal breaks and toilet breaks.

-Our employees will practice social distancing and staying home. They will refrain from attending any non-urgent meetings, or taking non-essential business trips.

-In addition, our employees are instructed to refrain from partaking in overseas travel, or attending meetings/events/gatherings where many unspecified people gather together. These gatherings also include workplace gatherings.

Requested Countermeasures for Our Guests;

-We ask for your cooperation in using our alcohol-based disinfectants during your visit so that you may use our facilities with peace of mind.

-We ask that you maintain a distance of at least one metre from other guests and employees wherever possible.

-If you have a fever or are feeling unwell, please refrain from visiting us at AYA Niseko until you have recovered.

-If you feel unwell during your stay, please inform our staff so that we may find a comfortable solution.

*As the pandemic continues to develop we may update the above information to reflect the advice and policies set forth by the Government of Japan and relevant organisations. In the case that we make an update, we will inform you again.

*Our sauna in the public onsen is still closed. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.

We look forward to welcoming you to AYA Niseko very soon and will do our very best to ensure that you and your loved ones enjoy your tranquil getaway to the beautiful village of Niseko as the green season begins.

With warm regards,
